Ronnie “RedMan” Robertson was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. RONNiE grew up singing in church under the leadership of his mother. By the age of 7, he received vocal and saxophone classical training from W. O. Smith Music School, an institution that provides music lessons for lower income families for only .25cents a lesson, which has become and will always be his favorite organization to give back too. As a result of his older sisters and brother not having the time or patience to teach RONNiE to play the piano; RONNiE, at the age of 7, became a self taught pianist, accompanying his church by 8 ½ years old. Due to these accomplishments and further interest of musical instrumentation, he also learned to play, in addition to the Piano and Alto Saxophone, the Hammond B3 Organ, Clarinet, Flute, Trumpet, Baritone Saxophone and Drums.
In 2004, RONNiE was the first runner-up in the Tenessee Chapter of the "Gospel Dream" competition. In 2006, he was crowned "Mr. Beautillion2006" by the Tennessee Chapter of the Top Ladies of Distinction. He attended and graduated from Nashville School of the Arts between the years of 2004- 2008, where he furthered his training in vocal music, instrumental music, music education and academic education. Throughout his high school experience, RONNiE was singing background in studio sessions, live, and touring with artist such as Vickie Winans, Kirk Franklin, Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley, Byron Cage, Aaron Neville, Judith McAllister, and a host of Country and Gospel Artist, while also, serving as a background vocalist for Gospel Music’s “Stellar Awards” and Stellar Award Events from 2004-2015.
RONNiE attended Middle Tennesse State University between the years of 2008 - 2012 and obtained a music degree with a concentration in Vocal Performance, Recording Industry, Music Business and with a Vocal Specialist Certification. While attending Middle Tennessee State University, RONNiE was appointed as Vocal Overseer of the MTSU Commercial Music Ensemble. Due to the consistent, ambitious, and vigorous work RONNiE delivered to the MTSU Commercial Music Ensemble, RONNiE was honored with the privilege of being selected to be one of the Middle Tennessee State Universities’ first MTSU Singer, where he would be an understudy of Cedric Dent of Take6. RONNiE in his 4 years of studies and traveling experience during college afforded RONNiE to hone and master the vocal styling’s of genres such as Classical, Jazz, Soul, R&B, Pop, Gospel, and Rock.
In addition to RONNiE’s high school and college experience, he also maintained a singing career throughout those years. RONNiE attending the Mount Zion Baptist Church, since July 2001, where he was introduced to individuals such as Darrel Walker, Regina Walker, Deborah Chisom, Frederick Vaughn, Bishop Joseph W. Walker III and National Recording Artist, Benita Jones (Washington), which they witnessed and nurtured Ronnie's love for God, music and worship; They were all instrumental in grooming him to be an amazing worship leader at Mount Zion, where he would grow to serve as an associate worship leader, choir director, as well as, an overseer of the Young Adult and College Music Worship Arts.
Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to sing for mainstream recording artist and recording companies- leads, background vocals, demos, and live- such as Disney, Vickie Winans, Keith Urban, Kirk Franklin, Khalid, Celine Dion, Kim Burrell, Karen Clark Sheard, Dorinda Clark Cole, Judith McAllister, Tank, Chris Brown, Cyndi Lauper, Trey Songz, Alicia Keys, Benita Jones, Joel Buckner, Tonya Baker, Chante Moore, Pixar, Yolanda Adams, Disney, Todd Dulaney, Jessica Reedy, Dierks Bently, Carrie Underwood, LionsGate, Lifeway Christian, Avant, Michael McDonald, Vince Gill, and many others! Ronnie was even privileged to sing at the Great American Poet, Writer, Philanthropist, Scholar, Singer, Actress Maya Angelou's funeral. In 2015, RONNiE was contracted to serve as a casting director for ABC’s hit show “Nashville” as too not only serve as a casting director, but he provided lead vocals and background vocals for the production. RONNiE, in 2018, while on vacation in Cancun, with the aid of his Creative Manager, Erica Elizabeth, landed on Mexico’s version of the United States’ “Good Morning America”, “The Sunny Morning Show”, giving an explosive performance of “Hater Anthem” one of his biggest songs from his debut album, which gave him international acknowledgement 1 year out of the gate as a solo artist. RONNiE, also in 2019, performed along side of Khalid at Coachella, immediately coming off of tour with Morris Day and the Time as their opening act. Currently, he is the Background Singer Coordinator for Bravo Voice Studios and Artist Development, a cast member of "Dr. Bobby Jones and The Nashville Super Choir, and the creator of "Ronnie's SoulVibe Lounge" all while still managing a solo career in R&B and Gospel music, recording sessions, vocal contracting, cast directing, touring with artist, vocal coaching, and still serving as a guest worship leader and/or psalmist on Sunday Mornings.
RONNiE has released 2 solo projects; Debut album “Could This Be Love” followed by his sophomore project “Time Is Up”! RONNiE continues to advance his career and show no signs of slowing down any time soon. RONNiE's mother states, "He has been singing since the day he got here!"
